The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.
Think globally, act locally.
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.
Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.
The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved.
Going Local Reduces Our Carbon Footprint.
With nine regional facilities situated across the globe, THE INDIE effectively fulfills orders in close proximity to our customers, minimizing resource consumption and transport-related emissions on an international scale. Thanks to the strategic placement and utilization of eco-friendly printing facilities worldwide, THE INDIE reduces our annual carbon footprint by over 1,000 of tons.
A carbon footprint refers to the aggregate greenhouse gas emissions, both direct and indirect, attributable to an individual, organization, event, or product. The typical U.S. household generates an annual carbon footprint of around 48 tons. As we continue to grow, we are committed to significantly reducing our carbon footprint even further.

What are volatile organic compounds (VOCs)?
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are substances characterized by high vapor pressure and low water solubility. Emitted as gases from solids or liquids, they can cause a range of short-term and long-term health issues. For more information on VOCs, consult the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
What is FSC Wood Certification?
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Wood Certification guarantees that wood products originate from forests that are responsibly managed, offering environmental, social, and economic advantages. To be deemed responsibly managed by the FSC, these forests must adhere to an extensive set of criteria.
What does carbon neutral mean for a company?
Attaining carbon neutrality as a company involves several stages. Initially, it's essential to assess the total annual carbon emissions generated by the organization's operations. Subsequently, efforts should be made to decrease these emissions by enhancing efficiencies and implementing eco-friendly practices. Lastly, any remaining emissions can be offset by purchasing carbon credits, such as procuring electricity from remote wind farms.
Our Promise

Latex Inks
Latex inks that are water-based are non-hazardous, non-toxic, and non-flammable, addressing numerous environmental, health, and safety concerns.
At THE INDIE, we utilize UL certified GREENGUARD GOLD inks, which meet the rigorous air quality standards established for hospitals and schools.
By employing Latex inks and our uniquely developed canvas (compliant with California's strict Prop 65 standards), we can produce top-notch prints while maintaining the lowest levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) among digital printers.

Sustainable Wood
We take pride in being among the select few manufacturers that source wood from FSC certified sustainable forests.
Particular trees are cultivated to optimize the production of stretcher bars. For every tree harvested, at least one more is planted or allowed to regenerate organically.
Moreover, THE INDIE's eco-friendly manufacturing approach minimizes wood waste by employing efficient cutting methods.

Eco-Friendly Packaging
THE INDIE utilizes 28% less cardboard than the industry norm by crafting custom boxes from recycled materials tailored to fit each product size and/or order.
Our facilities are equipped with specialized machinery that enables us to decrease the usage of tape, plastic, and other packaging materials for all deliveries.
Locally Handcrafted
THE INDIE locally produces artworks for independent artists around the world. We ship from 9 global locations, in local currencies and with local shipping options. Our facilities are located in the US, CA, UK, EU, & AU and offer worldwide delivery to more than 100 countries. This means less carbon footprint, faster shipping times and at a lower cost.
